Robinson Cano No Longer A Yankee : (

When I first heard about Robinson Cano being traded to Seattle I was sad. I've been a big Cano fan since he first started on the team and I can't believe that he's going to play for Seattle. First of all I think New York City is one of the better cities to live in. When I think of Seattle all I can think of is rainy weather.

Now if I was sad about the trade I could only imagine how my baby sister was going to react. Since he's my favorite player he's also her favorite player as well. I was really nervous to tell her about it. She's only nine and she doesn't understand how money hungry these athletes and their manager's could be. With that being said when I did tell her she was heart broken and cried. She's a die hard Yankee fan and it sucks to see your favorite player go. I explained to her how baseball can be sometimes and she wasn't as upset anymore. All she said was "Who's going to be our favorite player now?". Which is a good question since Derek Jeter looks like he's probably going to retire 2014 and who knows who else will be traded.

A few days after hearing the news I saw Robinson Cano changed his picture on Facebook and thanked all his Yankee fans for all their support. He didn't have to do that and I was curious to see how the fans responded. OMG!!! The typical stereotype of the Yankee fans are that their cocky and assholes. Which I totally understand, I do think my team is the best and yes I get cocky sometimes when talking about my team. The comments I saw for Cano were horrific. I understand people are upset, but at the end of the day people will go where the money is.

Being loyal to a team is one thing, but at the same time Cano felt that he was worth more than what the Yankees were willing to offer him. I believe if any of those people who bad mouth him were in his position they too would leave the Yankees and go to whichever team pays more.

I'm upset about Cano leaving as, but that was his choice and I respect it. As an adult I feel that it's childish to bad mouth him. People look ridiculous doing so. Although I wish the Yankees didn't let him go I wish Cano nothing but the best. He'll always be one of my favorite players and I've already bought tickets to a Yankees and Mariners game.

Taking the Next Step and Moving in with My Boyfriend (Part One)

In the beginning of the month my boyfriend and I found an amazing apartment and we moved out of our mother's houses. I never realized how much work it took to move out. The process was exhausting. We didn't have too much furniture since this was our first place, but I had a load of things to pack. Packing a little each day after work didn't help much. So the day before moving day I recruited my cousin to help me pack and if it wasn't for her I think I would've only gotten to pack half of my things. We didn't go to sleep till 3AM that day and Saturday AKA moving day I felt like a zombie.

I woke up at 630AM that Saturday morning so I could do my laundry before the big move. Then after laundry it was off to get the moving truck. Thank goodness for my uncle because there was no way I was driving a 16' moving truck. Once the truck came then the moving started. One of my cousin's friend helped out and I guess he couldn't believe the amount of shoes that I had. He then asked me "Do you wear all of them?". That caused for a good laugh. I wear most of them and unfortunately I ended up throwing away about 10 pairs of shoes. It was sad to part with some of my shoes, but I had to get everything out of my mom's house. Not sure what she's going to do with the extra space, but I don't want to have to keep going back to get more stuff. (Although that's what I'm stuck doing now.)

Once we were done at my mom's house we then went to pick up my boyfriend's things. Unlike me he only had boxes and he left half of his clothes at his mother's house. He planned on using his mom's apartment for storage. She has the space for it so why not. Our apartment only has 2 closets, but so far we're making the best of it with the amount of storage space that we have. I've learned how to condense the space we have and creating new space. When you have a limited amount of storage space you have to think outside the box. 

Once everything was packed into the moving truck we then went to our apartment. (Finally!!!) Moving things into the apartment didn't take long at all. I think packing the truck took much more time. In about an hour all our stuff were moved into the apartment from the truck. Since the moving truck was under my name I had to go back and return it. That didn't take up too much time and then it was time to celebrate our move.

We had a late lunch that day and went to Maspeth's Ale House. (I'll have a detailed review on Inda's Tasty Review.) It felt great to finally be able to sit down and relax. Although the only thing I could really think about was going to sleep. I was tired and all I wanted to do was test out our new bed and take a quick power nap.

Once we were done with our late lunch and everyone went home I finally got to take my nap. I didn't get to do much unpacking either afterwards. The whole moving in process took forever especially when you don't have any days off from work. Till now I've unpacked a lot of things, but still the apartment isn't at 100% yet, but I guess that's part of the whole process.

On a side note I've decided that I'll have more things to write about on my big step. This was only part one. Stay tuned for more blogs on "Taking the Next Step". 

Daily Blog: Learning How To Drive in New York City

Even though you don't necessarily need a car in New York City my father made sure I learned how to drive when I was old enough. I'm so thankful he did because it's true what they say it's like riding a bike. Once you know how to drive you'll never forget.

My dad started teaching me how to drive when I got my permit at 17. The first year I got my permit I didn't drive too much. I actually sucked the first couple of times. Back then when Shea Stadium was around, I learned how to drive at their parking lot. It took me about 2-3 times practicing in the parking lot before I actually started driving in the street. I always drove with my dad because I made the mistake of asking my mom and she freaked out on me while I was driving. So I didn't make that same mistake twice.

My dad was a good teacher, he had the patience for it. I never understood how he did it because if I was him I don't think I could have done it. He made me drive everywhere and it was a good learning experience. Driving in Manhattan was the worst with all the yellow cabs, but my dad walked me through the whole thing. Regardless if people honked at me or not he said don't worry stay calm and just do what I tell you. He gave me good pointers and I learned things I'll never forget.

I drove for about 3 years with my permit and then at 20 years old I got my driver's license. Thankfully for me I took my test once and I passed, but that's because I had a great teacher.

Daily Blog: Department Store Day

Today's daily blog is for all my shopaholics. Since it's Department Store Day my favorite department store is Macys. At Macys there's always something for everyone.

The one day that's the craziest to shop at Macys has to be on Black Friday. I haven't gone shopping on Black Friday for over three years, but when I did go for the door busters Macys was one of the stores I would always stop by and stop in.

The deals Macys has sometimes are really good. One thing I love about them is an item will be on sale and there'll be an additional discount on it. When Christmas shopping for a big family those additional discounts come in very handy. Plus they carry almost every brand out there so it's a mix of things you can buy there.

I usually go to the one at Queens Center mall. Although the one in Herald Square is a lot bigger, but sometimes it's just a little too big for me and I'd prefer to shop at the smaller one.

Their website deals are different from their store deals, shopping online isn't bad either. For the holidays I like to shop online. I can't stand the lines during the holidays and people really do get crazy when shopping. I like being at home where I'm relaxed when I'm shopping. Plus they usually offer free shipping when you spend a certain amount so there's perks to shopping online too.

So when thinking of shopping at a department store go visit Macys because 95% of the time you'll fine that one item you needed or wanted.

End Of Summer BBQ

On September 21st the Knights of Columbus Lexington Council of Greenpoint Brooklyn held their end of summer BBQ. It was an absolute beautiful day for one. At first it was cloudy and the weather man did say some morning showers would appear, but the showers came and gone so quickly and we were able to enjoy the day. After the five minute rain the sun was out and about.

The BBQ was held at St. Anthony's school yard and they had all the typical BBQ dishes (burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, salads, beers and sodas). It was a nice community outing. New and old people of the Greenpoint area was in attendance.

My friend even came out to support the cause too. Last time I saw him was for my birthday in April. It really was a great event to be around family and friends. These are the moments I cherish because everyone's always so busy.

Everyone at the BBQ were great and you felt like a community with everyone there. Since Greenpoint is changing a lot everyday it's nice to go to these functions and give back to the community. It's kind of sad to see a neighborhood change so much. No one knows each other like they use to and it doesn't feel like a neighborhood anymore. Greenpoint seems like LES to me and I've been told by many that it wasn't always the case.

NYC Apartment Search Difficutlies

I'm born and raised in Queens NY and I can't believe how difficult it is to rent an apartment in your own neighborhood. 

I'm not a fan of realtors and I think their fee is beyond ridiculous. I understand people have to make a living but one month's rent to be the middle person is way to much, but whatever. This is how the game works, I needed to be robbed in order to get a place to live. 

My favorite thing has to be the fact that you tell them your price range and they insist on showing you an apartment that's a bit higher than your price range. Why ask for a price range when you're going to show me something I didn't really ask for. Then they tell you well if you bond with the landlord they might lower the rent for you. So right away this is all a joke from the beginning. 

My thing is how did becoming a renter get to this point. My parents owned a house and we rented, but we never asked people "how much is in your bank account". My own mother doesn't know that information why would I give a complete stranger knowledge of that. I'd like to know how much is in the landlord's bank account so I know that they can pay their mortgage and that while I'm renting I'm guaranteed a roof over my head. Then because I don't want to disclose how much is in my bank account which is no one's business but my own the realtor suggests that we pay 2 months security so they feel that we're more financially secure. So that 's 4 months rent because I have to pay the realtor too. If I wanted to pay 4 months rent up front I rather buy my own house instead of renting. 

Also just because people have money it doesn't mean they'll be good tenant. I mean let's be for real now. Look at these hipsters, yuppies, trust funds whatever you want to call them. Prior to them invading our cities I've never heard of bed bugs my whole life. I remember there were tics at Washington Square Park in the Village and they said not to sit on the grass, but other than that I've never heard of such a thing. Now if you think you've heard it all, well I save the best for last. I've heard of a realtor saying the landlord requires a blood test to rent the apartment so that they know the people they rent to don't have diseases.  

I wish I could win the lotto and buy up a bunch of buildings and take over these neighborhoods that have changed so much. I'm shocked landlords aren't asking the rentor for their first born child. The renting business is so ass backward and hopefully I do find a place soon and on that note I feel a lot better after my ranting episode. 

Mariano Bobble Head Disaster

As most of you know last Thursday 9/30 was Mariano Bobble Head Night. What a joke that was.

First of all my boyfriend surprised me with the tickets because he knows I'm a big Yankee fan. It was a really sweet surprised. I usually hate surprises, but he did really good with this one. With him being a big Mets fan he did a really good thing by getting these tickets.

So after work that day I ran out so I could get to the game on time. I didn't even hear about the voucher's for the bobble heads. I wasn't concern with checking Facebook or Twitter. So since I work in the Wall Street area I took the 1 to the D because the 4 train always gets messed up whenever I take it going to a game. The 1 train got me to the D in no time. So when I got to the D everything was going fine and I thought wow for once I'm going to make the game on time. Boy was I wrong. When we got to 145th street the conductor said "Next time 161st street Yankee Stadium". Why is it that when we got to Yankee Stadium the stop was skipped and we went to the next express stop. How do you skip a stop? Obviously someone wasn't paying attention to their job. So instead of getting to the game on time I got there by 7:20PM thanks to the MTA.

Once I met my boyfriend he told me how crazy everything was and that there were no bobble heads, but he got a voucher for them. So I was like okay can't be that bad later on. So we got our food and ate then we went to our seats. At the game we got Nathan's and of course we got an order of their cheese fries. I swear their cheese fries are the best!!! Once we got to our seats about twenty minutes afterwards my boyfriend saw someone with a bobble head. Turns out they had just arrived so my boyfriend said he rather get them now instead of after the game. That was at the bottom of the 3rd inning. He didn't get back till the top of the 7th inning and that was about an hour and a half. H e was beyond pissed off. He said no one knew what they were doing and everything was disorganized. I was so happy that I didn't decided to go get them with him because I was tired and had a long day. I wouldn't have been a happy camper if I was on that line.

My boyfriend vowed to never come back to Yankee Stadium and I couldn't blame him. The marketing team should've implemented a better system. I've never seen or heard this kind of choas happen at any other stadium. I guess there's a first time for everything, but it sucks we had to experience it. Instead of having a nice date night, we weren't even with each other for most of our date.

I'm glad to hear that people who waited for those bobble heads will be getting free tickets to a game next year. If the fans weren't going to get anything back that would've been more messed up. Hopefully something like this doesn't happen again on any promotional night.

My Latest Tattoo

My latest tattoo is very special to me. It's for my stepfather who had just passed away very recently, July 22, 2013. When he passed he was only sixty two year old. He had lung cancer and it had spread to his bones. Although it's beyond sad at least now he's no longer in any pain.

On the day of the funeral I was devastated. I wasn't ready for the casket to be closed. So when I said my final goodbye to him all I could do was hug him (sort of) and tell him repeatedly that I was sorry. More like begging for forgiveness.

(For the past two years our relationship had changed. One night he had a huge argument with my mother and I never really forgave him for it. To make matters worst for the first six months to a year after that I acted as if he didn't exist. A complete b*tch and now I have to live with my actions. I guess you can say I made up for it because once I knew how sick he was my feelings/actions reverted back to how it use to be, but I never really forgave myself for acting the way I did.)

So when we got to the cemetery I was holding a white rose and I had seen a butterfly flying around. The butterfly was orange and black. Then out of no where the butterfly landed right on my flower and it stayed there for a good five to ten seconds. I was so nervous when the butterfly landed on my flower that I held my breath. When the butterfly flew away my boyfriend told me it was a good sign and I didn't think anything of it.

The next day I told my mom about the butterfly and once I mentioned it she said "that was him" and that my stepfather always believed that butterflies were angels. I was beyond touched when she said that and I was happy that it happened.

Later on that week I had met with a friend and told her my butterfly story. She agreed with my mom and said that she's heard a couple of stories with butterflies at funerals or when a person who is close to you passes.

Later on that night I decided to Google it. What I found was amazing. One story was of a mother who's daughter passed away because she got hit by a drunk driver. At her daughter's funeral there was a white butterfly on her casket during the whole ceremony. The mother didn't realize it till a nun had pointed it out and said she was with us all along. That's when I figured out why the butterfly landed on my flower. I had begged for forgiveness and even though he couldn't tell me he showed me that things were okay between us through the butterfly.

That's the big story behind the tattoo. Now for the design my stepfather had a dagger/sword (depending how you look at it) on his right arm. I took that and added a white rose wrapped around it with the butterfly on top. I wanted my tattoo to be something special and something that shows that I do love him and I wish I had been a better person.

I got my tattoo done at B52 Tattoo (located at 248 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn NY 11211, Williamsburg). Snake Eyes took my vision and made it a million times more amazing than I thought it'd be. The tattoo alone took about two to two and a half hours and honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been. I even watched YouTube videos to see how other people reacted to getting a tattoo on their shin. Some people couldn't take the pain and some were fine with it. The only part that hurt was the shading and anyone who has gotten a tattoo knows that shading is the worst part. When people ask how it feels I tell them it's like having a cut on your skin then putting a lighter over it. It stings and it burns, but if you want something that bad you'll suck up the pain.

Also if you're in need of a dope tattoo check out Snake Eyes at B 52 Tattoo. He's been in the industry forever and he's a great artist. I've seen his work on my boyfriend and some of his other friends. You know a person is good when he gets booked up really quick. When getting a tattoo do your research and get recommendations. Your tattoo is for life, you need to have someone that you can trust to ink you up. 

San Gennaro- Little Italy, New York

When you're a New Yorker you know fall has arrive because the fest of San Gennaro is going on in Little Italy. The feast normally begins by the second the weekend of September. To find out the history and activities of the feast you can go to SanGennaro.org. At the feast you can get your favorite Italian American sandwiches, pizza, pasta and many desserts.

During the feast the street of Little Italy becomes a lot smaller. All of the restaurants set up tables on the sidewalk of their restaurants. Then you have your food carts or shops set up on both sides of the streets. It gets jammed pack when you go at night. Although I know it might be hard to go out the house without a stroller when you have a young child, but it's best to leave them at home. It takes up a lot of space and you don't want people to bump into the stroller and especially your child. That's just my opinion because you should be more practical in these types of situations.

So usually when I go to the feast (or any feast) I usually get a sausage sandwich with peppers and onions. This time I wanted to try something different so I got the pork barasoiel with onions and peppers. It was one of the best things I ever ate. With each bite I kept on saying how amazing and good my sandwich was. Also if you like the fat on your meat I definitely recommend getting the park barasoiel. There wasn't a lot of fat, but here and there you would bite into it.

After the sandwiched we walked it off for a while and started to scope out the other things to eat. I'm big on sweets so I passed by Ferrara's and saw they had gelato, but we stilled wanted to walk around. Plus I wanted to get calamari from Umberto's Clam House. At least my boyfriend and I figured out where we were getting our desserts from, so time was not wasted walking around. Then off we went walking and hit Umberto's Clam House. They had two stands, this year and I can only imagine the kind of profit they'll be making from it. Every time I go it's always been packed with people around. I love seafood so I appreciate good friend calamari. It was golden and crispy on the outside. Not too chewy either which was just perfect. We got the sweet marinara sauce on top of the calamari and everything was delicious.

Once we were done with that it was time to take a picture in the big chair. Usually my boyfriend and I take the big chair pictures at the feast in Brooklyn for Our Lady of Mount Carmel. It we don't get it at that feast then we'll take the pictures at San Gennaro and it's the same lady

Friday The 13th: Are You Superstitious??

Many believe that Friday the 13th brings bad luck while others celebrate it and look forward to it.

I've always been a scaredy cat so I didn't like Friday the 13th at all. When I was a kid I associated Friday the 13th with Halloween except people don't get dressed up in costumes that day. I use to believe this because of all the horror movies they would play on TV especially Friday the 13th with Jason. Then my mom is a big fan of horror movies too so she would watch all the scary movies on Friday the 13th. That left me watching those movies too as a kid and that's how I turned into a big scaredy cat.

As I got older I wasn't as scared of Friday the 13th. I learned that it was some people's superstitions about it. As an adult I've learn to deal with it as if it was a normal day. I do see that most people have been superstitious about it since the beginning of time. Even in some of the buildings I've worked in Manhattan I noticed that they don't have the 13th floor. It doesn't help either that there has been scary movies/TV shows about the 13th floor. I find it interesting that people can be like that.

I too am superstitious, but not about Friday the 13th. Being Indonesian people believe in black magic and that anyone can get hexed at any moment. Do I believe in that stuff? I'd say it's 50/50. I know such things exist, but I want no part of it or any kind of knowledge of it whatsoever. In this particular area I think the less a person knows the better it might be for them. Just like the saying curiosity killed the cat; well I don't want to be the cat.

On the lighter side of things some people celebrate Friday the 13th. Last Friday I saw many sales stating to add an additional 13% off of the order. The store that comes to mind is Payless, they advertised this with their bogo sale. I also saw tweets about tattoo shops offering to tattoo the number 13 for $13. How funny is that, some people think Friday the 13th is bad luck and others are making money off of it.

So at the end of the day it's what you make of it that matters.

Walking Over The Williamsburg Bridge

The Williamsburg Bridge connects South Williamsburg to the Lower East Side. Both areas have changed in so many ways and have become very trendy. The Williamsburg Bridge is not the nicest looking bridge in New York, but the views from the bridge are still great and it's not a bad walk at all.

One thing I love to do whether it's fall, spring or summer (when it's not humid and hot) is to walk over the Williamburg Bridge. I use to walk over the bridge at least once or twice a year, but I wasn't able to the last two years. My boyfriend and I have been so busy we didn't have time to enjoy the more simple activities the city has to offer.

So finally last month we were able to walk over the bridge. We've walked over the bridge a couple of times before and finally this time the weather was on our side. I never feel scared when walking the bridge and there are plenty of people walking or riding their bikes. Some people go for a run on the bridge too, which I think is a great idea. I think running over the Williamsburg Bridge is almost liking being on your own of marathon. Plus you'll probably burn a bunch of calories and not even notice it since you're outside and enjoying the view.

The first time my boyfriend and I walked over the bridge was in the summer of 2008. I remember it because we had just started dating and I told him I never walked over it before. The only bad thing was we picked a really hot and humid day, which was a big fail on our part. Then another time we had walked over the bridge it was in the spring time and it had just gotten dark. There were still people around, but to be on the bridge at night was a little creepy. Then the J train was passing and I was a little jumpy at the times. Although it was dark there were still people walking and people riding their bikes. It just seems like people are always there.

So finally this time around we walked the bridge a little past six so the sun was almost about to go down and it wasn't as humid or hot as the first time around. The first few times we walked the bridge we never took any pictures, so I made sure we took pictures this time around. Although my boyfriend makes fun of me we still took the pictures anyways and it came out real cute. Who doesn't love a selfie here and there.

Walking the Williamsburg Bridge doesn't take long at all. I think it took us about forty five minutes to an hour and this was because we were taking our time. Once over the bridge we did go to the bar and got ourselves a beer. It just seemed like the right thing to do.

Another bridge I'll have to walk over is the Brooklyn Bridge. I think the views from there will be amazing and it's definitely something to do on my bucket list.

Dinner at Nick's Bistro

Greeks diners are the best diners period!! There has never been a Greek diner where I didn't enjoy their food.

So last night my boyfriend and I were in Forest Hills and all I wanted was a burger and buffalo wings. There's not many places to eat on Metropolitan Ave. First we decided to go to Blackwater Inn because that's our go to bar, but when we got there the place was packed. Turns out it was the first night they were open after being closed for renovations. I was so sad that we couldn't eat there because you could see from outside how packed it was and there were no seats at the bar either. My boyfriend reassured me that I wouldn't have wanted to eat there since you could still smell the fresh paint and I have a very sensitive nose.

So we decided to walk down the avenue to find something to eat. When we first saw Nick's Bistro we were across the street from it. We were a little skeptical about the place. At first we thought it was going to be an overpriced kind of restaurant. So we both decided we'll just check the menu first and we'll take it from there. I'm sure glad we took a look at the menu because they had your typical diner food. I was just happy I was going to get my burger.

Once inside we were seated right away and the waitstaff was very friendly and polite. After we sat down and ordered we got some pita bread and humus for starters while we waited for our food. The pita bread was nice and toasty and the humus was delicious. To our surprise the buffalo wings were really good. The sauce was good, not like your typical bar buffalo wings, but it was up there. Once our burgers came I was so happy that I got a cheese burger. They put American cheese on both the top and bottom part of the beef patty and the burger was on point. I had my cheese burger with onion rings and I honestly have nothing bad to say about it. My boyfriend had a turkey burger with fries and he didn't have anything bad to say about it either. For once we're able to find a good place to eat that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

So if you're in the Forest Hills area on Metropolitan Ave I would recommend going to Nick's Bistro. The food is good and the place has a nice atmosphere to it. It doesn't look like you're typical diner from the outside and it offers other great entrees as well. Sorry I don't have any pictures for the blog, I was too busy eating and I forgot about taking pictures.

Rent A Dress From RentTheRunway

The first time I rented a dress from RentTheRunway.com was in April. I needed a one of a kind dress for my Big 30th Birthday party. I had signed up for RentTheRunway.com awhile back, but never had the opportunity to use their services.

The dress I got for my birthday was a Mark & James by Badgley Mischka mini silver sequence dress. The first time I saw this dress I knew it was going to be my dress. Since my dress was silver and my favorite color is purple all my accessories were purple as well (shoes, jewelry, my nails and  even my clutch had some purple on it) I ordered it two weeks before my party. I had all my purple accessories except for a pair of earrings. Since I was going all out for my birthday I decided to rent them as well. I rented a pair of Gerard Yosca amethyst color earrings. It was the perfect style to match my outfit and I loved how everything came about.

The site allows you to rent the dress for either four or eight days. If you rent the dress for 8 days the rental fee is a little more expensive. Another good thing about renting a dress from RentTheRunway is you're able to receive two dresses. You'll always need a backup just in case the dress ran too big or too small. This is something that's very useful because you won't know how the dress fits you till you try it on. When my dress arrived it came in a black RentTheRunway dress bag which you keep at the end. Also they give you some free goodies. I got a facial cleaner and some very useful fabric tape with my first rental. Along with the dress comes a UPS pak with a shipping label all ready to go when it's time to return the dress.

Then the second time I rented a dress I was attending a wedding at Fox Hollow Country Club in Long Island, NY. The Venue was was nice and of course I'll have a blog about that place later on as well. This time around I rented a long dress and I ended up picking a BCBGMaxazria floral dress. I'm only 4'11" and at first I was worried about the length of the dress. I got the dress in a regular length and was able to wear it with my three inch heels. The dress wasn't too long and the length was perfect. Although most of the reviews on the page stated the dress ran big, when I wore it the dress was snug on me. The whole night I had people tell me that they loved the dress and that was exactly the kind of response I was looking for.

(Side note, on the second rental my free goodies were a new dove body soap and I got small pack of precision tip q-tips, which is very useful when you apply you're own make up. RentTheRunway is always helping us ladies out some useful goodies.)

So there it is... if you've ever wondered about using their services I hope this blog helps you. I absolutely loved it and I think it's the best thing out there. When you're going to an event you'll want the best dresses out there and that's what RentTheRunway gives you. Also just a side note if your dress is due to be sent back on a Sunday, you can drop it off at a UPS location on Monday instead. I found this out the second time I rented the dress. If I had to drop off the dress on a Sunday to UPS I wouldn't have used their service. Another good thing about the site is their customer service responds to you fairly quickly. Although it usually says up to twenty four hours, in my experience it was within the same day.

Daily Blog: Best Pizza Ever!!!

Best Pizza I ever had was in Miami. Although you would think that New York's pizza would be the best, this place in Miami is my favorite. The name of the place is Pizza Bar and it's located at 1627 Collins Ave. The shop also had a website if you want to check it out, PizzaBar.com

Pizza Bar is pretty big, but it's narrow just like a bar. The slices there are huge. If I was to compare it to a regular New York pizza it's about two and a half of a  slices of a slice put together. It's the perfect pizza, not too much dough which I like because I prefer a thin crust. Although that sounds like a lot almost everyone that goes there is able to finish the whole slice.

At night Pizza Bar is always busy with people getting food after going out. Just like any pizza place they have a variety of pizzas to choose from. I've had their plain, pepperoni and mushroom slice. Each one was was good and I'd get them all again.

So if you're over in the South Beach area go to the Pizza Bar after a night out or for lunch one day. I promise you won't regret it.

Daily Blog: Favorite Drink at a Baseball Game

Citifield has my favorite drink at a baseball game. Yup I really did just say that.

Since I'm a big beer drinker my favorite drink at Citifield. Although I am a big Yankees fan (and you can tell from my previous blogs) Citifield has Big Apple Brews located on the field level and the upper deck level. The one on field level is located a not too far from Shake Shack. The one on the upper deck level is located in the picnic area up there. Their Big Apple Brews has a very complete list of beers in my eyes. Whenever I got to a Mets game with my boyfriend I always get the Raspberry Shock Top.

Shock Top has become my new favorite Beligum wheat beer. I've also tried Slyfox Raspberry beer, but I like Shock Top's version of raspberry beer much better. I like wheat beer because it's a lighter beer and it's very smooth. I'm not a fan of dark beers, but I will drink them occasionally or when I am in the mood for one.

I've tried to get Raspberry Shock Top at other places I go to, but I can't find it. Looks like my best bet to get this beer is either at Citifield or at a beer distributor. Also at Big Apple Brews they have almost every kind of beer there.

So if you're a beer drinker like myself I would highly recommend getting your beers here when you go to the game. So if you go and try it please let me know how it goes. Not everyone is going to like it so drink at your own risk.

Daily Blog: Fall Nail Polish Colors

Today's Daily Blog is a little short, but that's because I decided to keep it short and sweet when talking about Nail Polish for Fall.

Once September comes around I say goodbye to all the bright and neon colors that I love to wear in the summer sadly. No more bright green, pinks, oranges or white. Summer is always a time to get crazy with your nails, but then when fall comes around you have to tone down the colors.

That's why neutral colors works best. My nails change with the season every year. For fall I like to wear neutral colors and a lot of browns, but it needs to be a light brown. If I wear anything pink it's a deeper pink and looks more rosy.

Deep reds are my favorite as well, but that's more for winter. For a more classic look you can never go wrong with a French manicure, but if you want to get a little funky with it do a reverse french manicure.

Whichever color or design you choose just remember to tone it down for fall : )

Daily Blog: When Do You Start Wearing Boots?

The weather is getting cooler and soon we'll have to put our sandals away. Although I'm sad that summer is coming to an end, I am excited about getting to wear my fall clothes.

Since it's only getting a bit cooler I love wearing my booties. I have a black pair of wedge booties that I leave in my office and for the weekend I have a grey suede pair of wedge booties. I got my grey booties about three or four years ago from Payless and they still look brand new since I don't wear them all the time. Plus I take care of shoes very well.

Then I also have a pair of brown Aldo boots with a two inch heel. These boots are so comfortable and when I'm just hanging out with my girls or my boyfriend these are one of my favorite go to boots.

Once the weather gets a lot colder like November that's when I start wearing my knee high boots. My favorite pair are my Nine West wedge boots. Nine West has been one of my favorite brands for as long as I can remember. They're very comfy and very affordable too. I use to pay crazy amount of money for shoes, but as I got older brand names weren't important to me as much.

A pair of boots that I treated myself too were my knitted Uggs. When it's super cold outside I wear my Uggs and my feet are nice and toasty, plus they're very comfortable to walk in. Another pair of boots I recommend to everyone are my purple Hunter Boots. These boots are the best for rainy days and snow days. I've had my Hunter Boots for over three years and they're the best. I have the high boot, but I'd like a shorter one so I can wear it in the fall or spring. Sometimes when walking in the high ones it might get too heavy on you.

So there it is, some of my favorite boots and when I like to wear them.

Daily Blog: My Favorite 2013 Summer Memory

This summer has been very busy and hectic. My favorite summer memory has to be taking my baby sister to the Yankees game. I had taken her to a Sunday game and the Yankees were playing the Detroit Tigers. We've been to the Yankees game a bunch of times before, but this time around it just seemed more special.

Since Goldstar is my one of my favorite websites to get discounted tickets that's where I went to purchase them. I bought tickets in the 400 section. Since with Goldstar you don't know where you're sitting our chances of sitting in the nosebleeds were 50/50. The tickets we got were in the nose bleed section in section 413. If you're afraid of heights these seats would be a problem for you.  We were all the way up there. (The last time I sat up there was two years ago for The Big Four Concert.) Although the view was still great we wanted to be a bit closer to the game.

By the bottom of the 5th inning we went to get dipping dots. I got cookie dough and my sister decided to get rainbow. My sister is nine years old and she thought it tasted good. I thought it had no flavor whatsoever and wasn't much of a fan of it. While eating our dipping dots I noticed that the outfield section in the 300s were pretty empty. There were plenty of seats there. The only bad thing was the sun was out in full effect and you would roast sitting that section. I ran it by my sister and she was all for it, but I reminded her that the security guard might not let us. She insisted we still try anyway.

So after walking to the other end of the stadium we got there and I asked the security guard if we could sit in the empty seats. At first he seemed very skeptical about letting us sit there, but then he gave in and said go ahead. My sister and I were thrilled and we sat there the remainder of the game.

The fun didn't stop there though. After watching the Yankees win, we went out for an early dinner at a sushi restaurant in Queens. The restaurant is right across the street from Queens Center Mall. We went to Tomo Japanese Cafe (89-14 Queens Blvd) which is one of my family's favorite sushi restaurants to go to. During dinner we had the whole nine years, appetizers, there sushi rolls each and dessert.

It was a very eventful day and one that we both enjoyed so much. Since my baby sister is so much younger than me I love to spoil her whenever I get the chance and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Coney Island Date Night

Two weekends ago my boyfriend and I decided to go to Coney Island for a date night. I've been to Coney Island a million times with my family, but never with him. The journey down there isn't too bad from Queens and who cares when you're looking forward to a fun filled night.

Once we got there the first thing we did was go to Nathans between Schweikerts Walk & Stillwell Ave. I've never been to this location before and I didn't even realize it existed because I thought they only had the one location on the Boardwalk. This location had a whole bunch of seafood items on the menu, and I got the clams and chips instead of their hotdogs. At first when I got it I thought it didn't look like much and that I would be hungry. To my surprise it was very filling and the clams and chips also came with cole slaw and corn bread. For $7 I was stuffed so this was bargain eating at it's best. My boyfriend opt for the more regular Nathan's items like their hot dogs and french fries. Even though I didn't get it this time their cheese fries are one of the best cheese fries ever. You have to try them at least once. 

After we ate we walked on the Boardwalk then walked into the amusement parks. The first ride we went on was the Polar Express. For $10 per person the ride was at least ten minutes long and you do feel like you get your money's worth. This ride is not scary at all and they play music while you're on it (mostly hip hop). The ride goes around in a circle and it has little baby hills here and there. 

Once we were done with the Polar Express we decided to take a break from the rides and play some games. First we went to the Arcade and we played Skee Ball and then played Terminator 2. During Skee Ball my boyfriend and I can get pretty competitive. We always have been whenever we're playing a game. After the arcade we played two of the typical carnival games. We didn't have any luck with the carnival games and didn't win any prizes. 

So for our second ride I was so determined to go on the Wonder Wheel. We bought our tickets and got on line. Once the family in front of us got in, I then started to notice how high the ferris wheel was. Also the seats looked like they were made out of really thin metal. I started panicking and had to get off the line. I just couldn't do it. The Wonder Wheel is super tall and I hope one day I'll be able to get over my fear. So we got our tickets back and went into the hunted house ride instead. We were the only ones on it, but it was fine with me. The ride had your regular hunted house items inside. Nothing out of the ordinary. My boyfriend being the jokester that he is told the attendant that he was so scared that his hair fell off. You can't help but laugh since he's bald. 

After the haunted house ride we decided we went on enough rides for the night. We walked on the Boardwalk towards the F train. Before we got on the train we went to this new candy store named It's Sugar. It had every kind of candy there was. Even older candy from the 80s. At this store I got myself a king size Air Head and a cute little tee for my baby cousin that said "I Love Boobs" on it. The store offers a variety of things, candy, shirts, household items (dishware) clothes; a little bit of everything. 

Once we got done shopping and looking around we went home. Being out on the Boardwalk and enjoying the summer night was by far one of the best date nights I had with my boyfriend. It's not always about going out for dinner and getting fancy. What's more important is enjoying the moments you and that special someone share and having fun together. 

Picnic At Brooklyn Bridge Park

                Three weekends ago my boyfriend and I went to the Brooklyn Bridge Park for a picnic. It was a good idea, but there were some flaws in our plans.

                First off we decided to take the East River Ferry. Last year when we took the ferry it wasn’t bad at all. So we decided to take the ferry from North 6^th St (Williamsburg, Brooklyn). Biggest mistake ever because when we got there the line was already long and the workers warned us that we might not be able to get on the boat, but we thought lets take our chances. It couldn’t be that bad, but it was. We didn’t make it on the first boat and it took another 40 minutes for the next one to come. A lot of people did got off the line once they weren’t able to get on and we got lucky being the first ones for the second boat. It’s just that the forty minutes wait was crazy. They should have had more boats on the weekends since more people will be using them. So note to self when going to Brooklyn Bridge Park it’s best to use the Subway because it gets you there a lot faster.

                Once we got to the park there was a bunch of people there. I guess word got around about the place. It's very easy to get to and the view of the park is just beautiful. Overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and just being by  the water is a really great feeling. The park is very spacious so there’s more than enough space for people to set up for a picnic. We got a spot under some shade because my boyfriend tends to get sun burned easily. There’s also a pool there, but I haven't ventured to that part of the park yet. 

                Being at the park for the picnic was very relaxing. After eating our sandwiches I fell asleep for a bit. Being in the shade and having the breeze on you tends to put you in the mood for a mini nap. Once we got done with our picnic we were going to go to the small ice cream shop that’s there. The line for the ice cream shop was insane. You would think it’s a line for a famous club in Vegas or Miami. Same thing goes for the line for the ferry. This time around my boyfriend and I knew better not to try to get on the ferry. It probably would’ve been a two hour wait before we got home.

                Instead we took the train home. Although the F train had some work done on it I got home a lot quicker than taking the ferry and having to take the subway as well.

                So note Brooklyn Bridge Park is still a nice place to go to, but nowadays it’s more crowded and a lot of people seem to have found out about it. It’s definitely a place you should try to go at least once, but it’s no longer a hidden gem. 

The Last Concert I went to... Bruno Mars

My last concert was in June at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. For my 30th birthday my boyfriend bought me tickets to the Bruno Mars concert. Lucky for me this was the second time I got to see Bruno Mars. I had been to his first concert as well for my 28th birthday. It was at the Roseland Ballroom, so having the concert at the Barclays Center was definitely a step up for Bruno Mars.

The person I chose to come with me was my mom. Although my boyfriend gave me the tickets, when I first got them he said he didn't want to go. So then a few days afterwards I told him that my mom was going with me and he had the nerve to say he was just joking and wanted to go. Too bad for him and his joking around like that, I still ended up taking my mother. My mother and I haven't had a girl's day just the two of us for a while and she hasn't been to a concert since she was a teenager.

The concert started at 8PM so I left my house about 6:30PM so I could get to Barclays without rushing and to have enough time to shop.  The train ride took about an hour and when we got there we of course had to take pictures outside and inside of the Barclays Center. I always knew Barclays center was huge, but I never realized how big it was and this was my first time being there. It really see a sight to see.

Getting into the Barclays was very quick which is always a good thing. Once inside we went to the bar and ordered a round of drinks. I suggest to never drink there. The prices are sky rocket for such a little amount. So after getting our overpriced drinks we went to shop for some souvenirs. I got myself a t-shirt and then we went up to our seats. Our seats were in section 200 row 9. I don't recommend any seats above the 100 section because it's very steep and you can't stand up to dance during the concert. My mom is scared of heights and so am I; so it took us both a minute or two to get use to our seats.

Once we got to our seats the first band was performing and then about 9PM they were done and they started to change the set. It was an exciting moment once you know that the performer is coming on. Finally Bruno Mars came on and that's when the party started.

Bruno Mars is a great performer and this time around he was more interactive with the audience. Then at one point of the concert he was singing 90s R&B songs like My Boo and Candy Rain. That of course was one of my favorite moments since those were the songs I grew up with. He also sang the more popular songs from his first album like Runaway Baby, Grenade, Just The Way You Are, etc. After all of this he ended the concert with Locked Out of Heaven and Gorilla. By far this this was one of my favorite concerts. I've been other concerts like Katy Perry, The Big Four and Dave Matthews Band.

The next big concert I'm going to will be Macklemore. That I can't wait to go to since he's another really good performer to watch and he's also a good rapper. People mostly associate him with pop music because of the song Thrift Shop, but when you listen to his whole album he rap about real stuff. Well it'll be a little bit of a wait till the next concert, but I can't hardly wait for it.

Groupon Vs. Goldstar

Summer time is here and there's always a million and one things to do in your area. Especially here in New York City. Groupon has become a very popular site to go on for a variety of deals such as restaurants, spas, bars, comedy shoes, getaways you name it Groupon will most likely have a deal for it.

Another site that is just as good as Groupon and only has deals for events is Goldstar. I think Goldstar does not get as much attention as Groupon does, but for the most part has better deals. For example I use Groupon to go to restaurants and sometimes I get okay service, good service or horrible service at this one place I went to. Even with the horrible service place Groupon has always been good to me, I never complained about the okay service and for the horrible service Groupon gave me credit for it and I got to go to a better place.

With Goldstar since they mainly focus on events it's a whole different ball park. I stumbled across Goldstar because I was looking for tickets to a Broadway show and was looking for a good deal. It was winter when I signed up for their mailing list. This was about 3 years ago. Then spring came around and I saw they had deals for a Yankees game. Upper deck seats they would sell for $24 then with the service fees it'd come out to $32. They also have deals for the Audi Club and the Turkey Hill Picnic Area. This year for my little sister's birthday I got tickets for the Turkey Hill Picnic Area. The food they offered were sliders, hotdogs, salad, beans, typical picnic foods. They also offered unlimited Turkey Hill ice cream and soft drinks. The seats that came along with the tickets were field level, but in the outfield. You can't beat something like this when you're going out for a special occasion.

Other events I've been to when using Goldstar was Dueling Pianos, Fuerza Bruta (amazing show), The Ride (which was interesting), and just my regular Yankees games. I've also been to a couple of Mets games as well because my boyfriend is a Mets fan. The events I've been to with Groupon are only museums. I've been to Ripley's Believe It or Not and the Sex Museum. Although I think the Sex Museum was small and could have included a lot more with their exhibits. On a good note it did have a bar/cafe all the way in the basement and you can pick up some fun interesting things in their gift shop. Just my opinion.

I've seen Groupon had deals for certain live events. One that comes to mind is the Mets game that features a Nas concert at the end of it. When I went on Groupon to purchase the tickets it took me to MLB.com and the game was sold out already. Then I went on Goldstar and was able to find tickets for the same game. Being from Queens and a hip hop fan of course I have to suppose my fellow Queens rapper and go to the game. Last time I went to a summer concert at Citifield was to see Foreigner, but I think with Nas performing there might be a bigger crowd after the game.

Therefore at the end Goldstar will always be the better sight for events. The service I get with Goldstar is always good and I'm never looked down upon. Unlike with certain Groupon deals where people treat you pretty crappy. My thing is if your business is on Groupon then it must suck and you're not getting as many customers as you would like. So if I was a business I would be just as nice to the Groupon customers as well. My boyfriend and I usually order extra things than what's offered, so I expect the service to be just as good because I'll be spending the extra money.

So at the end remember sign up for Goldstar because you won't regret it.

Recap of the Weekend, Friday June 14th

Since I was really busy last weekend each day is getting their own blog. It's great to keep busy because then I'll have more things to write about, but the biggest problem I have is finding the time to write. Therefore I realize I'll have delays from time to time, but will try to avoid it if I can.

So of course my weekends starts at 1PM every Friday. I make sure I come in to work early and get everything off my plate. I hate having to start the week with things to do from the previous week.

After work I rushed home because I had a long day ahead of me. I was to take my baby sister out for sushi, take her home then go to a Mets game with my boyfriend. After the game the band Foreigner was performing. It all worked out at the end though.

So for lunch I went to Queens Center Mall to eat sushi at Kido Sushi. you sit at either a table or sushi bar and there's a conveyor belt that has all the sushi dishes on them. The prices go by the color of the plate. The cheapest plate is the white plate at $2 and the most expensive plate are the oranges ones at $6. They also offer regular rolls too, but I wanted to try all the fatty rolls on the belt. Some of them were deep fried or had more than one fish in the roll. This wasn't the first time I've eaten sushi like this. I went to a restaurant like this a long time ago when I went to Australia. So I was familiar with the concept of the place. Once my sister and I got full we left the mall so I could take her home. It was a nice afternoon lunch spent with her. I would've put up a picture, but we were so hungry that we forgot to take them.

Once I dropped her at home I had to get ready for the Mets game. I didn't get there too late, but my boyfriend is the type who likes to be at places an hour before it starts. When I finally got to the game it was about 6:30PM and the game started at 7:10PM.

Once at Citifield we got pulled pork sandwiches from Blue Smoke. The sandwich was about $8, but it was worth it. They had the right amount of pork on it and you really did get your money's worth. After eating our sandwiches we went to the big beer stand on the upper deck level. I tried this raspberry wheat beer that Top Shock makes and it was amazing. So far this is my favorite raspberry flavored beer. So after eating and getting our beers we went to our seats to watch the game. We didn't stay in our seats during the whole game of course we walked around and got more snacks and did some shopping. I got cookie dough dipping dots, but next time I'm getting cookies & cream because there was very little cookie dough in the cup I got. That day the Mets were playing against the Cubs and unfortunately they lost the game.

Duane Reade sponsors the Summer Concerts that they have after the game and as you're waiting for it to begin they tell you to go down to any available seats in your section for the concert. It took about twenty minutes for the stage to get set up and Foreigner was pretty good. I only knew a couple of songs, but it was definitely a good time. Hopefully Yankee Stadium does some Summer Concerts, that'd be really good. The next Summer Concert at Citifield is July 19th and if you're a fan of hip hop you'll want to go to this one. Nas is going to be performing after the game, and growing up I've listened to him, so you know I'm going to try and get tickets to that game just for the concert. It's worth going because the concert lasts about an hour and a half, so that's not bad at all.

That was my Friday night in a nutshell. Saturday was just as busy and hopefully this summer I'll be able to do everything on my bucket list. If only summer could last a little longer, but I think it might this year since it took awhile for the weather to get warm.

Daily Blog: What's Your Favorite Ride In Disney World?

At least once in your life you have to had gone to Disney World, and if you haven't I suggest taking the kid inside of you over there. It really is a sight to see and the feeling can't be explained. Disney World is not like Six Flags or Coney Island, it really is magical. Now you can make fun all you want, but till you go there and experience it for yourself you won't really know. I've only been to Disney World, and hopefully someday I'll be able to go to Disneyland. For the moment I'm content with going to Florida, plus it's a shorter plane ride from New York.

 

The very first time I went to Disney World I was about 8 or 9 years old. It wasn't my first trip our of New York, because I've been to Indonesia a couple of times prior to my Florida trip. We went in April during Spring Break because this trip was my birthday present and I was so excited about it. I wanted to go on all of the rides and meet all the characters. That was my personal goal. So the day came when we finally went to Disney World and I was just amazed at everything. Seeing the castle, going to Minnie Mouse's house I absolutely loved every single minute of it. Even now as an adult I love Disney World and there's just no better place to have fun and feel like a kid. The only sad part is now everything is so expensive so you can't enjoy it as if you were a kid.

 

My favorite ride is actually one of the baby rides. I love going on it's a Small World. Even though they play just that one song, everyone looks so happy when you go through the ride. I remember seeing babies crying cause they were scared, but I love all the scenes that they have on the ride. Now even writing about it I'm starting to sing the song in my head. I've been to Disney World a couple of times now, and till now every time I go there I have to go on this ride. Getting on the little boat and just going through all the different scenes. It feels like I've been on it a hundred times and whenever I go I'm still amazed at everything I see. There's no better feeling then remembering your childhood and that first time you did something. That's how I feel each and every time I've been on this ride. Now I can  enjoy with my younger siblings, and it just makes me happy. My favorite scenes are the one with Winnie the Pooh in it. Last time I went to Disney World I finally got a picture with him. The little kid inside of me was jumping for joy after that.

 

It's so hard to catch the characters sometimes, but at least now it's more organized. There's a line, people wait their turn. Back then (which feels like 100 years ago) a character came out and you just surrounded them trying to take a picture. So kudos to Disney World for being more organized nowadays.

 

There really is no better place then Disney World to feel like a kid.

Daily Blog: Favorite Thing To Do In The Summer

Every time summer comes all I think about is being out doors. The weather is nice why would I want to be stuck at home.

First place that comes to mind is the beach. I absolutely love going to the beach. At the beach I’m all about tanning. The essentials you’ll need are sun screen, sun glasses and I like to bring a book or magazine. I like reading when I’m tanning I feel more relaxed and I’m able to enjoy my book. I love watching the waves come in and being under the sun. The one beach in NY that I like is Long Beach. I rather pay so I can tan at a clean beach. Although this year I do plan on going to the Rockaways since it’s not too far of a bus ride from my house. The only thing is that bus gets ridiculously packed on the weekends no matter what time you go. 

Another outdoor activity I enjoy is having a picnic. I wish my boyfriend and I got to do more of this last year, but I’m hoping that would change for this year. A good place to go to is Dumbo Park. Last year we went there it was such a nice thing to do. We even got to take a little nap during out picnic. The views are also amazing, right next to the Brooklyn Bridge and then you can see Downtown Manhattan across from there. If you decide to go try the Ice Cream shop. They serve homemade ice cream and it’s worth every penny of it. You can also take the water taxi from Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Downtown Manhattan to get there.

As for the night life, I like being outside so going to a cafe where I can sit on the sidewalk is ideal to me. Another great place to be out and enjoy the outdoors would be to go to a beer garden. There are so many of them now and each one is unique. There are a couple of them in Williamsburg and Astoria. The one in Astoria is called Bohemian Hall Beer Garden located at 29-19 24^th Ave. The one located in Williamsburg is called Berry Park and it’s located at 4 Berry St, Brooklyn. I prefer Bohemian Hall Beer Garden because you’re outdoors and it feels like you’re at a park surrounded by all these picnic tables. Berry Park to me is a regular bar with a big roof top, so it doesn’t really feel much like a garden. Although don’t be surprised both places gets very packed during the summer time.

Daily Blog: What's Your Favorite Beer?

Picking one beer and calling it my favorite is plain impossible. There are just so many beers out there to choose one. I love almost all kinds of beers. I’ve drank about almost every kind of beer out there such as Blue Moon, Hoegaarden, Purple Haze, Bud Light, Coors Light, Coronas, Sapporo, Bintang (Indonesian Beer), Raspberry Sly Fox, Stella, Yuengling, Heineken are just the few that I’ve had. For other beers that I didn’t list I would have to be in the mood to drink them.

For the most part I enjoy wheat beer. That I can say is my favorite type of beer. Some of the wheat beers I drink are Blue Moon, Hoegaarden and Purple Haze. I just started drinking Purple Haze and it’s not always available at most bars.  Although my friends laugh at me when I tell them about Purple Haze it’s actually a really good beer. If you like light beers then I’d recommend drinking wheat beer.

One of my all time classic beer are Coronas. I remember I started drinking Coronas when I went to the Pool Halls in Jackson Heights. Every pool hall in Jackson Heights severed Coronas. Some people drink it with a lime, but I don’t really have a preference, I’ll drink it either way. It’s also a great beer to have when you’re having a BBQ because the taste of the beer goes great with the food.

Another beer I use to drink at one point is Stella. It’s a nice heavier beer, not one made for chugging. This is one of those beers you drink slowly so you can appreciate the quality of it, similar to Heineken. When I was in Amsterdam I got to visit the Heineken Brewery. There was so much history to it. I never knew it was a family business and it’s now on its 4^th generation. The story itself is remarkable. For more on my trip to the Brewery stay tuned.

Then of course there are the American beers. My favorite American beer is Yuengling. The taste is different from Bud Light or Coors, but this to me is a great beer to have when you’re hanging out at the bar. When 1849 in the Village use to be a good bar to go to my friends and I would order a pitcher of Yuengling and get some wings. Yuenling has a distinct taste, but don’t let it fool you. Those dark beers will catch up to you so take your time drinking them.

Now for the dark lagers, I’m not really a big fan of them. Guinness is good, but I’m not running to the bar to drink it. I do enjoy it when I’m doing a car bomb. I’ve also tried New Castle as well, but it’s just not something I would prefer. To drink dark lager it’s an acquired taste that I don’t have and I don’t think I’ll be getting anytime soon.

I like my light beers for the most part and that’s what I’m sticking in.
